A long hunters knife, This is an amalgamation of long hunters knives of the 1700s used by the long hunters in the Appalachian mountains. The long hunters gathered deer hides over a long number of months and brought back the raw hides called a “Buck.” The hides would be traded for goods and currency. It is where we get the term “a buck” from.
